Dr. Geoffrey Dobson

 

Dr. Geoffrey Dobson, PhD, FAHA, holds a Professorial Chair in the Trauma and Sepsis Research Laboratory of the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University. Professor Dobson has over 30 years of experience and over 100 refereed research publications in surgical cardioplegia, organ preservation, hemorrhagic shock, Traumatic Brain Injury, cardiac arrest, coagulopathy, sepsis, metabolism and cellular bioenergetics. Professor Dobson is the inventor of the adenosine, lidocaine and magnesium (ALM) cardioplegia that is currently used in cardiothoracic surgery in the United States and Italy. In 2011, Professor Dobson was an invited speaker on far-forward hypotensive ALM resuscitation strategies at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO’s) Medical Operations Conference in Madrid, and since then has had numerous keynote speaker invitations on trauma and haemorrhage.
